timing issue

so i finallly got my car running but i still need to work out some kinks. I start the engine and it runs fine i rev it up and it advances and sounds good. problem is when i put it in gear and let the clutch out it falls on its face, it doesn't totally die but almost and then i can get it to come back up but then it still barely has any power. i shot it with the timing light, but i don't know what marks to line up for the correct advance. any help would be appreciated. im pretty sure its a timing and or mixture thing.
