New and have a couple of 510 questions

So I am new to the Datsun 510 and had a couple of questions. I have a 71 2dr but was wondering if the front doors on a 71 4rd are the same. also i need a new front clip welded onto the 2rd, dose the 4dr have the same front clip. i also need to do the trunk.

 

i know this is the body/interior section but dose any one know where to get a wiring kit to redo the whole car i have the part for a saturn alternator conversion but would like to get more power through the rest of the car for a nice stereo and stuff like that.

Front doors from a 4-door are not the same as doors off a 2-door. All the front sheet metal and the trunk lid are the same for 2-doors and 4-doors.

but for the trunk and and front clip i don't need fenders, trunk lid or anything like that i am actually cutting the engine bay off and going to weld the new one on and wondering if the 2dr to 4dr one will match. sorry if thats what you ment i just wanted to be certain before i cut up the car.

Yes you can cut the front clip off in front of the firewall and switch it around. Measure twice, cut once :D

 

But hobbes is right, the doors wont swap :D

ok thank you. can you do the same with the trunk before the lid to? look like some one tried to put a fuel cell in a messed up, theres random blowtorch holes in it and would live to fix that to.

the trunk will swap too. the only part that is different is where the rear doors meet the quarter panel, but if you only need the floor of the trunk that shouldn't be an issue.

save the wire harness if possible!!!!!!!!!I wwouldnt even worry about the Saturn conversion yet. a 50 amper alt are still cheap. See if swapping all this stuff is even worth it.( need a new front clip welded onto the 2rd,)

Maybe finding another car would be EZer
