brodster Posted August 15, 2011 Report Share Posted August 15, 2011 This may be a dumb question, but are the big rubber bump stops for the Datsun 521 leaf springs the same as the 520 (or functionally equivalent)? I only ask because Nissan lists them as two different part numbers. I have access to good pair of 520 bump stops. My current ones are still functional, but pretty ugly. I just want to make sure they have the same bolt pattern before I buy them. And it would be great if they looked about the same. Our 521 right hasn’t been lowered or anything, so that shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks Quote Link to comment

wayno Posted August 15, 2011 Report Share Posted August 15, 2011 The reason they have differant numbers is they bolt on differantly, this is how the 520 bolts on. This is how the 521 bolts on. Which type you looking for, I suspect 521, but maybe you bought a 520. :lol: Quote Link to comment

wayno Posted August 16, 2011 Report Share Posted August 16, 2011 When I bought my first 521 pickup many years ago, I thought that the back was a little stiff, I was talking to Dan Hart one day about it, and he told me to cut the bottom half of the lower circle off the bump stops on both sides. wayno Posted August 28, 2011 Report Share Posted August 28, 2011 I may have made a mistake on this thread that I just realized today, I lengthened a 520 frame, I may have used a 521 frame for the back half as to make the frame the proper length, so the photos I posted MAY have been backwards, the photos of the 521 MAY have been the 520 bump stops, ect. Sometimes I have to many things going on and get confused about what I have out there anymore. I realized what I did trying to figure out where all the 3rd members I have came from, this might be good for me though, since I might have the gearing I want in that truck now.:confused: :lol: Quote Link to comment
