510 gas and temp gauge

Recommended Posts

Ive spent the last half an hour searching and I can't find the old reference I used before to fix my gas gauge. So any help?

Or as long as I've owned my car, my temp gauge never worked but I fixed my gas gauge before(turned out to be the connection on the gas tank) but now neither work.

Any suggestions?

The temp sender is in the thermostat housing just below the upper rad hose. Pull the Yellow with White stripe wire off and ground to the motor. The gauge should read full hot. If it does, but not when connected to the sender, then the sender is bad. If it does not read then there is a bad connection between it and the gauge.

Yep, the connections on the back of the gas/temp area get nasty and fail to work. My car had the same problem when I first got it. I had to take it apart again here recently to do it again. This time I put plenty of electrical grease on it so HOPEFULLY I won't have to do it again.
