I dont need something all polished up and pretty, just needs to be useable - anybody gots one?? Ill buy it or I have some 620 parts Id trade. . . maybe I have what you need? Link to comment

It just seemed strange that the bottom 3in or so of the flywheel would be exposed to the elements, so I figured I must be missin this part - No? It is a 78 or so 280z 5speed thats going in a 75 620 with the original engine. What do you guys think/know? And what does NVH stand for? Link to comment

It affects the release bearing carrier length. The later cars used them to reduce NVH. I haven't seen an L without the plate to cover the front of the transmission. You could use one from an automatic. It's two piece but does the same job. Link to comment
ggzilla Posted July 25, 2011 Report Share Posted July 25, 2011 Yes, the front of the transmission is always covered. Some L-series manual transmissions used a 1/2 plate (dust cover) that bolted on after you mate the engine & transmission. Maybe only the early ones? Link to comment
