baycity720
What is the best way to do a performance lower a 720 without fabrication? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Turn the torsion bars on the front down and/or re index them and add a 2", 3" block in the rear between the axle and the leaf springs. If you plan to mod this truck you should start a build thread so all questions and answers are in the same place. It's easier to find and keep track of. Quote Link to comment
baycity720
Werd. I just wanted to know what parts I need to do it so I could order the parts, then when I do a build thread, I can install the parts and take pics. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What is the best way to do a performance lower a 720 without fabrication? Parts? Just a kit with lowering blocks. The blocks have a nub on one side to lock into the spring perch on the bottom of a 2wd axle. The other side has a hole for the nub on the leaf spring pack. Slip the block between the axle and the leaf springs and tighten down the longer U bolts. This one is 2" More will likely change the pinion to drive shaft angle too much and it will vibrate. Turning the front torsion bars down will also throw the camber and toe out as well. A small amount you can live with but the more you lower the more it will be out. . Quote Link to comment
sinner720st
you can locate your torsion bar adjustment by crawling under your truck and following the straight round bar from your front lower control arm back to the rear of your transmission crossmember, you will see a bolt going upward. loosen the jam nut a bunch, then loosen the other nut bellow it.... make small adjustments at a time (like 3 turns max) then roll the truck forward and backward letting the suspension relax, if you dont, your tire's grip will cause you to have a false measurement... measure from top of wheel lip to inside the top of the fender arc. for the rear just check out this site belltech Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
On the 620 you can remove the upper a-arm spacers to get your camber back. I dropped my front about 5" and have almost stock camber. Not sure if the 720 has those spacers. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
They do. They come in 1, 2 and 4 mm sizes. Quote Link to comment
baycity720
Thank you sirs. I've been building import street/strip CARS for 16 years. This is my first truck, so it's a learning curve. Quote Link to comment
