ll77
sup guys so my tranny's been dripping a bit, and its whole underside is soaked with oil, so it must be coming from the rear trans seal since it would cause the "highest" leak and drip down the whole tranny. so I bought a rear trans seal from MSA, and I've been doing some research and I guess I'm supposed to take the bolts off the companion flange and pull down on the rear of the drive shaft to pull the splined front out and replace the seal. I took off the heat shield to take a look, and I saw that the bolts faced the rear of the car, and the differential blocked access to these bolts from the rear. So am I supposed to get the rear suspension off to gain access to these bolts? or is there a simpler way? some ratsun cleverness? Thanks guys. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
I hate that only an open end will fit. You could grind down the outside of a box end for more positive grip so you don't round the shoulders on the nut. Quote Link to comment
