Guest 510kamikazifreak
Wiper pivot mount?? Only thing I could find in a quick search' http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun520/Datsun520521Index/ElectricalCommon/WindshieldWiper/tabid/1430/Default.aspx Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
That's the wiper pivot, which drives the wiper arm. There is a no 1 and no 2 (right and left) pivots which are different. 610 and 710 use one of the same, the other is different. Junkyard is your best bet, or source one from a fellow 710 owner. oldskoolvws
Thanks guys. Just to be clear, I'm talking about the aluminum piece in my OIC. I have both of them, but they no longer hold the wiper secure. When I hit 60, the wipers creep up the windshield. I wonder if they are universal... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
You mean this thing? That's the wiper pivot. They are not universal. Quote Link to comment
hang_510
When I hit 60, the wipers creep up the windshield. you can hit 60? more likely a bad motor than the pivots... mine use to do that. so i started leaving them in the up poisition :D Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
hang_510's idea makes sense. If the wiper motor is off, the only thing preventing the wiper from rotating is the inertia of the motor gearing. When the wiper motor is on, if they move back and forth normally, then the pivot is not worn enought to slip. So what sort of Datsun is this where the wipers move even when the wiper motor is off?
