You can have wheels like that made by machining stock centers out of

original shells, then sending them to a steel wheel manufacturer to be

welded into new/wider shells @ the specified offset. It's a lot of work,

but not very expensive.

 

The wheel mfgr's I'm talking about are makers of oval track steel wheels

and/or similar for street rods, industrial vehicles, etc. Google any of these:

 

Stockton Wheel (in California)

 

Pete Paulsen Motorsports (California)

 

Diamond Racing (somehere in midwest)

 

I have 13 x 7 wheels made this way on stock 510 cores by Paulsen, and

also another set of 510 centers cut out for future use. I cut my own centers

from the stock narrow rims on a drill press with a hole saw (they're built with

large dia spot welds). Mine all have the wrong centers for a truck of course,

but the technique applies to anything with steel wheels.
