BitBandit
I have a friend that put the Subi LSD in his 620 but he said he had to get his diff housing machined so it would fit in there. my question for those of you who have done this, is this the case? I have not seen any mention of having to do that on the forums. I plan on hitting up the junk yards tomorrow and was going to look for a Subi LSD while i am out and about. 1 Quote Link to comment
Burabuda
first a couple questions for ya: 1) what does this mean? "he had to get his diff housing missed" 2) 620 = pickup truck maybe you mean 610? Quote Link to comment

nismo dr
sounds like you need to get your friend on here and do a how to article! by machining,do you mean he converted the entire rear end to irs? Quote Link to comment
southern620
If I'm not mistaken there is an active thread about this. It's called diff shortening. Quote Link to comment

He still has the solid axle under there. I think he is a member on here, I know he at least lurks here, he told me about the site when I got my truck. I will have to ask him about the details again, but if I remember right is was something to do with making the bearing fit. Quote Link to comment

Burabuda
missed = machined? hmm the 610 is a bit different and some newer subie diffs fit without being missed 1 Quote Link to comment

BitBandit
I thought I found an LSD for $75 but it was a VLSD. My friend said he got his LSD out of a '95 Legacy Wagon with a 5-speed. He had a friend of his in Idaho do the machining to get it to fit so, he was not sure what all had to be done. I am hoping I can find one soon so I can compare and give it a try. I will keep you guys posted. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
95 legacy lsd is differant then the 92 and below lsd you use in a 510 Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
Oh so 92 is the magic number? I haven't found anything that says exactly which years, unless it's in that sticky but thats a lot of reading. Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
my skepticism is growing but for reference 1995 subaru legacy rear diff manual tran p#38369-AA450 ratio 3.900 auto trans p#38369-AA460 ratio 4.11 Quote Link to comment
motavated
I want to see his truck burn out on both tires before I believe it. OICS!!!!! Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
What ever happened to this? Quote Link to comment
BitBandit
I have not been able to find a LSD to check into it personally. I had one lined up for $75 but it was a 2000 VLSD so I didn't want to mess with it. Quote Link to comment
