oldskoolvws Posted February 10, 2011 Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 Don't know if it helps, but there's a L motor in the Newark Pick N Pull all the way in the back. Going to need some work. Someone took the head off so some rain got in the cylinders but nothing real bad. It's there. Thought about pulling it and then came to my senses...like I need another motor or trans at my house. FoxyRoadster Posted February 10, 2011 Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 I'd go for something a little larger, like an L20 but also the R16 needs the datsun transmission as the only two compatible with it without custom work are the 5 speed and 4 speed. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, depending on the cost. It will help keep the oil cool as I've got the stock steel pan. Quote Link to comment

The 521 came with the L series stock (well in the later years) and would be a lot easier to swap. Get an L20b and call it good. Quote Link to comment
