i recently painted my 2 door and pulled out the engine to get the engine bay. Now, none of the lights turn on or gauges work, the engine turns on and stays on but also my stereo wont stay on unless i have jumpers connected to the battery, i recently put in a new volt regulator, it was used, could this have anything to do with the issues

any advice will help. thanks

volt reg has nothing to do with the radio. that I know of.

the headlights should be wired up to the battery. meaning take a test light and ground one end and put the pointer end on the lamp connection.(with swithc OFF). all the connection should light up with test light. So its a ground proplem either threw the realy or the swithc to ground.

make sure the ground at the volt reg is good.

I think there is a ground by the hood release not sure.
