Wide14u
Chester and i went to look at a motor and tranny for sale today. We were thinking on the way there it would be a L series but when we got there it is a z20s. Of course thought the tranny is for the motor but we are curious about what it would have came out of. Any help would be great and thank you. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
'80-'81 US A-10 (later HL510) It's an F4W63. The Z series tranny has a close(er) ratio gear set than the L20B tranny which have the same ratios as the original 510. First picture of one I've ever seen. Thanks. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
It will only fit a Z series motor and unlike the FS5W71B the front cover can't be swapped to make it fit an L series motor. It is a 4 speed and nothing special. It isn't the strongest transmission there is. Quote Link to comment
