WTT 520 Bumperette brackets

I bought a set of bumperettes and I was told they were from a 520. I have a 620 and they don't fit right. I need to trade for the right set. some one told me that 521 brackets are the same as 620s.

AFAIK 520 and 521 brackets are the same. 620 ones, well, you'd have to go to Mexico or Asia to find them. Or make your own.

Really? I was told differently. Hmmm.

I knew 520s and 521s both looked similar.

Could the brackets be modified ,or would it be easier to have someone make new ons?

The bumperettes sit up too high and slant in towards the middle.

Your brackets are probably bent.

If they slant in they're bent. The brackets are bolted directly to the frame, which is straight, and pretty much identical on all 3 models. The brackets are extremely weak and bend easily.

These were off of a 520. Seems strange they're both bent exactly the same.

Here's a pic of what they look like. I had to use spacers to get then this good. They stick out past the body too far.

That looks like they're mounted to the wrong side of the frame. But I don't have any bumperettes, so I can't say if they were supposed to mount in the inboard of the frame, or if that's even possible. But remember, the 520 and 521 are more "slab sided" and the 620 body curves inward, so they might be in the right place anyway.

Here's a pic. No way to mount them inboard. Maybe I can get them redone.

The blue thing is the mudflap with tape on it.

i'd say with how slight the offset is, you should take some plate steel and drill holes for the bolts (bumperette side), mount it up, and move the brackets to where you want em. Not really alot of work, just a long pry bar and a big hammer.
