I had a really hard time getting mine off. It came down to using a #4 screw drivers, block of wood, a church key, and some courage...as soon as you get a little of it popped, it starts going a lot easier. I had to try different spots to try and find the spot where it popped off easier. Good luck.

The trim pops back on. I removed mine prior to repaint and it was scary. go slow, it gets tricky on the curved sections. Honestly if I were to do it again I wouldn't remove it, and just tape them off.

 

The nice thing is you can run it through the buffer and get them polished up nicely before you reinstall them. Although that is just another opportunity to mangle them :lol:
