bustedknuckles
so i was thinking about getting a hardbody with a 2.4 and a 5 speed in it and was wondering how hard would it be to swap it into my 76 620 i would be getting the hardbody only for a parts truck if anyone has done the swap or knows anything about the swap and could give me a little insight that would be great Quote Link to comment
Z-train
THere is a strong possiblity of the A/C compressor not fitting it so equipted.KA-24s bolt right in(sans compressor) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I've done this with a 720 and tranny into a 620. Physically it 'drops in'. NOTE: The D-21 has a Z24i which is a TBI fuel injection motor. So, you can try and swap all the EFI wiring/ sensors/ ECU and high pressure fuel pump and tank. OR find a Z24 intake and carb and low pressure fuel pump for this motor from a 720. The D-21 has a longer transmission than the 620 so the drive shaft will need shortening to match. It's only a couple of inches or less. The Z24 has the intake on the pass side so you will need the throttle longer cable. You will also need the Z24 engine brackets that bolt between the block and the rubber motor mounts. Quote Link to comment
