Sabidee
Hey guys. Finally decided to become a member after much lurking around. I just recently picked up my 1984 Datsun 720. I have owned a 76' 620 way long ago. So it feels great to get back into the truck game. Well..I have been searching around my area for a couple of months now. Around here all anyone ever has is Toyotas. So it feels great to be different. Found her on Craigslist for 500$ with a blown head gasket. Here are some pictures taken the day I got her. Plans so far is to actually find some time to tear into the head and send it off to the machine shop to get surfaced and slap a new head gasket on there. (Hard finding new bolts, so I guess I'll reuse em') The truck already came lowered with 4" blocks in the rear and cranked down torsion bars. I believe the wheels came off a 4x4 Hardbody. Interior is alright. Bed is a little rusty. So hopefully I can source a new one. Probly after a new bed I will paint her up. I guess I show you guys a picture of my inspiration for my build. Besides the bagged part. In the future after I finish saving up for parts..... Swap the engine out cant decided because its pretty much limitless as long as you have a welder and funds :-) Triangulated 4-Link setup Coilovers (when I picked up my Eastwood welder) 5 lug conversion. There are a couple of things that I cant decided on although. Yota Rear end? Front suspension design Color!! :-) Well hope you guys like the truck so far. Hopefully she will go through a couple of changes. My background comes from the Nissan world btw. Mostly s13 and s14 chassis (yes I know this is not going to be a cakewalk). I planning to take some welding classes in the spring. I use to be a Mechanic and Auto Body Painter at a local independent shop. Thank You guys. But all dreaming aside....I plan on at the moment sourcing a bed and alil body work. Get the head gasket issue fixed. Paint her...And take the crazy muffler off...And prob. drive around until I rack up a couple grand. LOL Quote Link to comment
Pumpkn210
I only read like half of that^ Welcome to the fold! ;) Nice truck! Quote Link to comment
izzo
wow that thing looks in good shape, even with a blown head gasket its not bad for 500 at all. Be careful with blown head gaskets on those naps motors, the head warps pretty easy. pull it off and throw a straight edge on there to see if it did. why pay a shop to do the work? head gaskets aren't that hard :D Quote Link to comment
