sick620
We have a nap Z in a 620. It had a lseries 4 speed transmission. We put in a nap z series 5 speed in. We are about an inch off on driveline length. The transmission came out of a D21 hardbody. What do we use for a diveline, we are figuring a 720 driveline. The trucks a 76 longbed. WHAT DO WE DO?!? datzenmike
Yes, the FS5W71C D21 5 speed behind the Z24i is slightly longer than the FS5W71B 620 or 720 5 speeds. The earlier 5 spds were 31.5" long. You may only need the front half of the two part drive shaft from the D-21, it will be shorter to accommodate the longer 5 speed. This will likely work between 720 and 620 but I don't know about the D-21... the entire truck may have been lengthened and drive line components changed radically. Or have the front half shortened by a shop. Quote Link to comment
