There is a slightly increased load momentarily when the lights first come on, that is the ballast firing up the arc for the bulbs. I actually recommend HID lights over halogens for people running older electrical systems since it is less strain on the system overall. Thats why more and more cars these days are running HID lights, and LED bulbs, less strain on already overworked automotive electrical systems Less load=more power=more economy. HOWEVER: Some kits play hell with AM radios, causing a feedback when they are on, so one may need to get an in line filter put on their radio in some older vehicles. Fortunately that isn't the case in my 620, but the set in my 521 required one. They sell at ratshack for around 15 bux. Quote Link to comment
