wildmaninid
Been a few years since I have been on the forum here...once I finished my 521 and sold it a year later I haven't done much Datsun-ing, but I picked up a 77 620 longbox and am starting another custom restoration. I do see a few of you guys running the Titan 18" wheel, I recently acquired a set, and am wondering what tire size to run...I was thinking 235-40-18, but am looking for some input from the community. Thanks a ton for your time Bill Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
225/40/18 is what I run and there perfect! Quote Link to comment

dbuzz77
this is a tire size calculator to keep the diameter the same for speedos, etc. http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Quote Link to comment
Braden
my question is with the 225 40 18 and the titans do you have to run spacers or anything on the 77 model, i have a 77 and titans too and i need to get them on there!! mine is dropped 3 inches in the rear and maybe 4 inches in the front, will they rub on the front?????? Your gonna need to roll the fenders but, other than that I don't think you'll have any problems since you have a 77 which have drum brakes all the way around. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You have to run 1/4" spacers or turn the hubs....or you can open up the center hole on the wheels. I just ran 1/4" spacers on my 77. Quote Link to comment
Braden
so 1/4 inch spacers all the way around? i would rather not roll my fenders  maybe some longer studs! Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You don't have to roll the fenders, although flattening the lip in the rear would be a good idea. Flat lip, 225/40r18, 1/4" spacers..frame sitting on the axle... Quote Link to comment
Braden
mine will not be that low ever, just 3 inch blocks in the rear maybe 4 inch or 3 inch and some drop shackles Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
That pic is 3" blocks and a fully loaded bed ;) Quote Link to comment
Braden
anybody ever run 235 60 18 on 620 with a titan rim? i have a chance to buy a set for 80 bucks Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Might fit if its stock height. Won't on a lowered truck. Quote Link to comment
Braden
im runnign 3 inch blocks and re indexed bars Quote Link to comment
alex843
Just want to ask if any one is running the stock drum brakes all around with this set up? I got a 521, just want to know how much stopping power is lost. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I'm running drums with mine at the moment, you won't notice any loss of braking. Upgrading to disc pretty soon though as the stock drums aren't the best brakes to begin with. Quote Link to comment
alex843
Yeah that is the plan too. I do a lot of highway driving, plus the 521 only has a single outlet on the master cylinder. That why I wanted to hear about some one else running stock brakes. Quote Link to comment
wildmaninid
Been running the 18" titan wheels since just after i started this thread, running 235/40/18 tires with 4 wheel drum brakes, and i haven't experienced and lack of stopping power. Fact it i just don't go fast enough to worry about it honestly. I love the wheel tire combo and would recommend it to anyone with a datto p/u. Its a nice! Bill Quote Link to comment

jun
I have a set of these 18" Titan rims in my garage (I got KMC XD's for my Titan) and I keep wanting a 620 to put them on! I do love how they look on 620's, it's a great match. Quote Link to comment
