hazard switch

hey guys quick question on the 69 510 goon were is the emergency light switch at. anybody got's pictures of the way it looks :unsure:

In my 69 4dr theres a little pull switch just off to the side of the steering column on the bottom of the dash.

ok i have that but every time i pull it. it cuts my turn signal off dose it run in a separet flasher. :(

Well I don't know any vehicle where you can have the turn signals and hazards running at the same time. Unless I'm misunderstanding your statement/question.

There are two flasher units.

 

When the emergency 4 way flasher switch is in the OFF position there are contacts inside that close and allow the turn signals to work. When the 4 way is ON the turn signals are disconnected.

 

The flasher unit for the 4 way may be missing. If it's there, swap it with the turn signal one. If the 4 way starts working and the signals stop then the 4 way flasher unit was bad.

yeah thats what happen u got it right on the money,but were is that 2nd flasher located i only see the one for the turn signals.lol :blink:

I don't know about the 510 but the 620 and 720 and my 710 have the two flasher units within inches of each other. So look for a second unit or the plug for it nearby.

the 210s got them side by side under the dash by the column.

speaking of flashers. is there a pinout guide to the sedan emergency blinkers? I'm going through wiring on one and the hazard switch is busted = no blinkers.

Pin 4 and 5 should be connected in the OFF position. Green and Green connected in OFF

 

This connects power from the fuse box to the turn signal flasher which connects to the turn signal switch which selects L or R and grounds through the lamps to light them.

am I wrong in saying that the blinkers will not work if the hazard switch is not present?
