angliagt
I finally got around to installing the transmission back into the '78 B210 (4 speed).Installed the NOS driveshaft, & found out the rear flange is smaller,& has a smaller bolt circle. I was thinking that it would probably be easiest to replace the differential with one that woulfd fit.Ideas? - Doug Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Then the drive shaft is wrong then? Likely the NOS is for a pre '75 H-145 axle and yours is an H-150. I think you would have to find a smaller a pre '75 H-145 diff to match the drive shaft. Quote Link to comment
angliagt
I finally installed the transmission back into the '78 B210 (4 speed).Installed the nos driveshaft that I bought from OEM Surplus. The flange on the new driveshaft is about 1/4" smaller than the original. I also have a '74 B210 parts car with a diff that will fit.Do I have to swap the diffs out,or can I just swap the flanges? What's the best/easiest way to go about this? - Doug Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No need for two posts on the same thing. I knew the B-210 changed diff size in mid 70s so I checked. Up to '75 an H-145 differential was used, after, an H-150 was used. These are two different size differential assemblies and I think this would include the flange. Just remove it and try swapping. If it doesn't fit swap the whole axle assy in as the H-145 gears won't fit the H-150 housing. Quote Link to comment
