Hey, I'm looking to replace the anemic, yet reliable work horse Z22 motor in my 1982 720 4x4.

I have a spare L28E sitting in my garage with matching 5 speed.

Who has done the swap ?

Cheers

Won't fit without cutting the fire wall or moving the rad to the box for room for the 2 extra cylinders. Almost certainly a custom oil pan. If you cut the fire wall the tranny will have to move back as well and you loose the heater. The engine alone is about 400+ lbs. I know you have one and it's cheap and available but...

For 40 less lbs you could slip a KA24 E or DE in. It fits and makes as much power with potential to make way more. Better EFI technology and market support and well documented swap. (yeah I know)
