Will ALL Nissan CA heads fit on CA blocks?

Are all of the Nissan CA heads interchangeable?

Can I put a CA16 (8-valve sohc) head on a CA18DET block?

If possible, which are the best single cam, 8-valve CA heads?

 

NOTE: For racing class, we need a single cam head. Cannot use the DOHC head. Nor a turbo.

 

By the way, gg hasn't gone new school. I'm asking on behalf of a friend.
