69dime
Does anyone know if there's a way to tell if Rebello or someone else built a motor? Did they stamp them or anything? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Free bump. Yeah, I'd like to know as that name get's thrown around a lot. Maybe he keeps a record of the block numbers he builds? Quote Link to comment
ohpyramids
i heard that dellorto carbs with some sneaky notches inside were a sign. otherwise- fast&expensive. was this from a rally car? Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
Unless you have documents with the engine or have Rebello I.D. the engine, there really is no way. From what I remember most of their trademark work was in headwork, cams and such. Most parts used where hi po parts made by other vendors and Nissan Comp. I know that some engine houses will put their decals on the valve covers in most cases or paint their engines in a certain color. Quote Link to comment
MAG58
Dave Rebello is pretty famous for his heads. Is it an L4 or an L6? I'm not sure with the 4cyl variants, but if it's got a true rebello head, it should be mostly easy to tell as his port work is mostly flawless. If you can set the head on the bench and think to yourself, why the hell would anyone dump this much cash into a cheap non-crossflow datsun, odds are Dave Rebello probably had his hands in it somewhere.
