sdsurf
Ok I can't get my G/D truck to idel. I had it going ok before I tried to get the carb dialed in. It was timed and everything. If in messing with the carb I ran it rich, would this foul the plugs and create my lack of idle issue? I can run it at speed, just no idle. HELP!! Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
adjust the mixture, brass screw at base of carb or ck the idle jet on side of carb. might have gotton dirt rust in there blocking the hole to let fuel in. A is mixture B is idle jet holder. pull out jet and clean Edited December 22, 2009 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Mike, is it possible the fuel filter got clogged causing a rough idle? Or maybe debris got through the filter & into the carb? I cant remember if your running the Hitachi or the 32/36 ? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, those are common problem with the filter and Hitachi design. Crud getting down in the fuel bowl. It may idle poorly but run OK when revved up. Running rich fouling your plugs? Unlikely. But you can remove the plugs and check them. Most likely like Hainz suggested, go through the common adjustments: idle speed and idle mixture. The most common idling problem with L20Bs is the idle-cut solenoid wire (anti-diesel) valve. Make sure it is still connected. Quote Link to comment
