CARB: Solenoid Vacuum Control

Recommended Posts

Been rebuilding my carb (hitatchi 2 brrl) and my Solenoid Vacuum Control to Solenoid anti-dieseling is M.i.a! i.e. only half is where it need to be, the other end of the wire is gonzo, so there was a bolt threaded in in its place.

What does this thing do? and any idea where I can get one?

ThanksyaThankityThank!

There is a solenoid that releases the vacuum signal to the BCDD. Truck should run without it.

There is an idle cut solenoid that is open when key is on to allow gas to the idle circuit. It closes when the key is turned off to cut fuel to prevent 'run on' when shutting off a hot motor. Without it, it will still idle and run, but may diesel and have a rough shut off.

use the solenoid from the bcdd it is the same kind, then take a piece of metal and fab a little block off plate for the bcdd, you dont need it anyways, thats what i did, makes the carb alot cleaner looking too, and yes i know that the carb is sittign backwards on the manifold

boost controlled deceleration device

to test, put trans in neutral, hold engine speed at 3 to 3500 rpm, then release the throttle quickly, the engine should slow to specified idle speed within a few seconds.
