sdsurf
I am thinking of rebuilding my front end. Thoughts on bushings? Where can I get them? Are polyurethane available? Is this a major undertaking? Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
From my experience, stock bushings can be a bit tough to find. Not sure about polys. New kingpins will likely make the biggest difference. Also check the idler arm. Quote Link to comment
nukeday
Page 575 of this manual has an exploded diagram of the bushings and fittings. After looking my truck over, I opted to just try to replace 'Item 83 - Assy-Bush, Upper link', PN 54519-08700, I just got 4 in the mail from Bruce Titus Auto Group. For info on kingpin replacement, search Mike's NL320 thread. For a lot of us, it isn't a do-it-yourself job. If you seriously plan to tear into, you might also consider Beebani's disc upgrade. nukeday
It might be worth getting in touch with reddat. Might be able to purchase everything at once? Showroom stock, wow, I'm jealous. :) Quote Link to comment

nukeday
Here's the bag of 4: Here's a shot, hopefully showing that the rubber portion is sleeved inside with a metal bushing. The bushing itself does have a taper on one end, hard to see in these pics. Sorry to hijack your thread SDsurf. Maybe this is helpful?! Quote Link to comment
