ggzilla
One of my bolts/threads was stripped on the rear of the 1200 pickup. What's the recommend torque spec? For Datsun 1200 stock steel wheels it is 65 ft-lb. I wonder if I should use the same for the alloys. They have a flat type nut, not tapered. Look like this type: Quote Link to comment
yello620
Should be the same specs. Very rarely does a auto manufacturerer spec a different torque for aluminum wheels. And most(all that i have seen) aftermarket wheel manufacturer's say to torqure to factory specs. With that said, 65 seems a little light to me. What size stud does the 1200 use? Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
The torque rating is for the wheel studs. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Thanks for the advice. Datsun 1200 uses M12 studs, but the whole car only weighs 1640 pounds. Most everything is lighter duty than B210. Quote Link to comment
datrod
Make sure that the lug nut is not to long. I've seen where people use them and they bottom out and strip the stud. Quote Link to comment
