ball joints help

I wanna replace the ball joints on my 1974 620 pick up and I wanna know if all the 620 take the same ball joints. I'm also looking for the thread that shows how to put 720 ball joints on the 620, I've looked around and I didn't find it. thanx guys

I could be wrong, but the earlier 620s had the same kingpin setup as earlier 521s. Later 620s had balljoints, and the last 620 models had discs

620 trucks didnt get a balljoint suspension until 1978.:mad:

 

Something makes me think that you are actually refering to installing the tie rods from a 720 maybe. Beebani(i think) posted a thread about installing 720 tie rods on a 620.

 

Or are you looking at converting the front suspension to balljoints so you get disc brakes too?

Upper and lower ball joints were used for the first time in trucks starting with 08 '77 build dates. ('78 model year.) At the same time the Pittman arm, cross rod, L and R tie rods and idler arm were all changed as well and are not consistent with prior parts.

Everything I can find (rockauto, CSK, etc) list the same part numbers for 520, 521 and 620 through '79...

I found the 521/620 Pittman arm and idler arm are the same Nissan Pt. number but only to 07 '77. Cross rod assys are different.

It appears that the aftermarket sells the same parts (idler, tie rod assemblies & cross shaft) for 520, 521 and 620..
