SHADY280
hey guys im swapping my 75's front brakes for hardbody discs with beebani's control arms and was looking about. the 75 has t/c rods, and the 78/79 lower control arms dont have a spot for them, does this just mean i delete them? it looks to me like the later model control arms are mounted much more solid than the early ones. yello620
The 78/79's use a different style TC rod. The mount to lower control at two of the lower ball joint bolts. Inner bolt at the front of the lower BJ and outer bolt at the rear of the BJ. Your stock TC rods will not work. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
god dang, anybody got a set kicking around, or a picture so i can fab some up with heim ends? im still working on getting the torsion rods out. they jiggle, but dont come out, any thoughts on that one. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
Got time? I could keep an eye out in the cheap yard around here. I may go within the next month. The frame mounts are even larger on the 78/79... but I think that your forward mounts will still work. Quote Link to comment

Be sure to still keep the screwdriver under the lock ring. Tap the rear arm of that holds the adjuster bolt out of the crossmember. Hang onto the torsion bar Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
perfect, thx mike i didnt find that when i searched. i even typed just torsion in too. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
i got them out, thx for the info, and i found pix of the t/c rod on glengemans swap in the how to section. to get the lower control arm off i had to cut one side and torch the rubber part of the bushing out, then cut the inner sleeve of the bushing to save the torsion bar bolt with the indexing head on it. good thing im not saving those lower arms and going to the later model ones.
