BarryA
Okay, I know I'm an idiot, but what does "Ute" stand for? Utility? corner of the world (Chevy El Caminos and Ford Rancheros excepted). Both Holden (GM Australia) and Ford of Australia have been building them for decades - run a google search for "Holden Ute" or "Falcon Ute" and you should find plenty of hits. The various utes built by Japanese manufacturers were most likely a result of Nissan and Toyota entering the Australian auto market after WWII and building utes to meet the demand from that area.
