jfbrink
Hi, Does anyone have any scale drawings of the 411 sedan chassis? Something like this (for a Nash Metropolitan): Or this (for a Porsche 356): I want to use the drawings (if they exist) to build a rough 3D model for the sake of testing fitment on some custom drivetrain ideas. When I did this for my Roadster, I spent a few hours laying under the car with a tape measure. I'd like to avoid that this time. Thanks! Jesse. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Let me look. My driver's manual or after market books might have something you could use. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Check out this one. It has a scale drawing. Quote Link to comment
jfbrink
Thanks, guys! MikeRL411: I hope your literature has something. I have a service manual, which pretty much pretends the unitary body/chassis isn't there. Ggzilla: That's definitely a great start -- thanks! Unfortunately, it doesn't include the main items I need -- the locations of mounting points and under body sheet metal/structural members. Thanks again. Hopefully some more pop up. Best, Jesse. ggzilla
Go to your local public Libary. If yours is a small one, go to the county/main branch. Look at the Mitchell's alignment book. It has all the cars. Quote Link to comment
jfbrink
Ggzilla, That could work great, but does Mitchell go all the way back to the '60s? I can't seem to find any (in LA's libraries or elsewhere) before 1982. Jesse. Quote Link to comment
motavated
They throw them away. I had a few datsun manuals that they were going to toss. I will check for you though today.... Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Check out this one. It has a scale drawing. This entry beats anything I was able to find! One suggestion for the detail you really need is to check with a really first rate shop that specializes in body and frame work like for insurance companies. Prestige Too in Torrance is one. They may be able to point you to the frame alignment specification drawings that have the dimensions you will need. Since the 411s had a front and rear subframe bolted on to their unibody, maybe if when and if you get real serious you could check with VINDATS [Tana the Datsun Lady] and see if she has a pair of subframes for you to play with?
