DRIVEN Posted April 2, 2009 Report Share Posted April 2, 2009 If you are just replacing the axle assembly (rearend), you probably don't need to pull the springs. In this order: driveline, tires, E-brake cable, shocks, U-bolts and shock mounts, brake line. Then slide the axle to one side or the other. Good luck. Quote Link to comment

DRIVEN Posted April 2, 2009 Report Share Posted April 2, 2009 Pretty much. There really aren't any surprises involved. The spring shackles are can be tricky just because they have been together for 35 years. Use plenty of WD40 and be careful with the threads. You shouldn't have any trouble with this job.
