banzai510(hainz)
webcamshafts.com Schneider Isky Colt and Shadebolt out of Canada and maybe a few other brands out there Bigger cams over about .475 lift should get new Bigger springs. all will need new Rocker arms/Resurfaced lash pads of bigger size and retainers. allsaid and done add 500$ to 800bucks. More if other added things. matchport intake and manifold if you have the bigger intake runniers. ect Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I cked the Schneider site and they only do regrinds now.got to send your in to get cut. Maybe try Webcamshafts.com and see who is a wholer for them as its cheaper than going throw them. Isky had good prices if you can get to the link on the Datsun parts#s, 176 is the gouping. best prices Isky did the Cams in the Motorsport book anyways Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
regrind is better anyway, correct? cause of the oil passages on them from the factory while on this subject Have tons of parts and keep forgetting which one is which U20 stamped cam, is this from L20b? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
regrind is better anyway, correct? cause of the oil passages on them from the factory I prefer New, But regrinds work if thats all that out there. But I think you want bigger lobe centers if possible. U20 is just a casting. I think its L20 but who cares. some people get excited SSS cam in a L16/L18. Who cares buy a l20 then its a 2liter SSS. same thing. Quote Link to comment
haubstr
why i'm asking is because i was trying to run my truck with the stock cam and it runs like crap. i know the carbs are out of adjustment but what will the effect be if the carbs are in adjustment but the cam is stock. banzai510(hainz)
I would put a weber DGV on there and see how it runs. If good your cam is not bad but your carbs can be out of sync or just not jetted right or just junk. ck timmeing again Maybe adv it to 12-15DTDC with a light I have a pair of 40mm mikini solex and they worked fine with stock motor and with a cammed ported motor(no jetting) maybe I got lucky. also open up the top of the carb and cheack to make sure the jet blocks are tite also ck to make sure the inner airhornsa(venturis are not loose) mine come loose every now and then Edited March 23, 2009 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment
