What happens when you put 12 volts to the little solenoid terminal? If your car is automatic, the neutral inhibitor switch can go bad (or out of adjustment on some cars) and keep the starter from working.

Are your fuel filters clean? If evaporative emission controls don’t vent the gas tank, it can create a vacuum that the fuel pump can’t overcome. (Flow guide valve on the old ones) Rare occurrence but easy enough to check by running it with the gas cap off or loose.

That would tell me the bolt shouldn’t be tight after snapping. That broken thread sticking out of the bolt shaft may be enough to grab the threaded part and back it out. If so, a magnet should pull it out from there. Otherwise, there are left hand drill bits for easy out kits that might grab it and back it out. But maybe not long enough.

Dec. of 2021, I did my first Autocross. I loved it, the car loved it and handled great. But I thought it was a real strain on a 50 year old car. I bought a front strut brace from a real race car. I just signed up for another Autocross so I made a rear strut brace from a section of stainless tubing. I haven’t done it enough to tell the difference but I’m sure it will be less strain on the car.

In the 1960’s commercial slot car tracks were popular. I accidentally got one of the faster chassis in the neighborhood. Being creative and having a warped sense of humor, I made a yellow balsa wood garbage truck body for it. It looked pretty authentic with “Leach” over the cab and D.P.W. on the doors. It even had model airplane “I” beams on the sides to fake the external mechanisms. It pissed a lot of kids off, getting beat by a garbage truck! 🙂

Years ago in Palm Beach County, Police were chasing a bad guy on the expressway and shooting at his vehicle. After numerous miles, of that they chased him on city streets. On his way past, he shot a meter maid. He finally crashed, got out of the car and shot himself in the head. They justified the 88 bullets fired by the police. Only 3 hit the man’s car. None hit him.
