  1. I am refinishing the heater box and after I removed the heater core I noted that there was black foam between the core and the box.

I presume that the foam serves as both insulation and an anti-rattle barrier.

After searching the internet for aftermarket foam substitutes, I stumbled upon the Dow Great Stuff product. The yellow product is available at local home builder warehouses. The GREAT STUFF™ Pond & Stone (http://greatstuff.dow.com/products/pond-and-stone/) is the same product in black. I spoke to a Dow representative and was told that all Great Stuff products are stable up to 240 degrees Fahrenheit.

Has anyone found a substitute for the factory black foam?

Has anyone used Great Stuff at higher temperature?

    Thanks,

    Keith

  2. Datsun 520 and 410 transmission case boots

Looking for a suitable substitution for the

Transmission Boot - Rubber – vented (30543-01301) – Item 22 in Illustration below

    My link

Clutch slave cover boot (30542-30000 or 30542-08700) – photo below

    My link

These are specific for the F4W63A transmission found on the J13 engine vehicles. (The holes in the transmission case are oval, rather than rectangular found on the L series transmission.)

    Thanks,

    Keith
