So i ran my first engine with nothing on the crank tube for 40,000 Miles... it just vented downward on the exhaust maniold..

What should I put on the breather tube ? and what set up will work ..because i dont want it just venting like it was

  2. My engine is all together and bolted in.. I am running a webber 32/36 on a L20 intake.. No Pvc valve and side intake stuff thats normal on these engines with a Hitachi...

Where do i run the engine breather crank tube. ?

And How do i run a PVC valve on it ?

and what should it look Like when done .. Pics Please ...

my engine has a shorty exhaust header on it from Top end performance... http://www.racetep.com/nissan.html

  3. i run the stock fuel pump on my L20... i also run a 510 intake manifold on my webber , and got rid of all that vacuume stuff that is on the stock L20 trucks , egr , and the one that runs down the the exhaust manifild , except the vaccume line that goes from the distributor to the side of the carb... also to check for intake leaks take a can of starting fluid and spray it on a " COLD " engine where the intake goes on the head, if you have a intake leak the engine will gain RPM.. I have a 32 36 webber on my L20..

also check the back of the carb where your throttle cable goes in , the is an idle adjustment there, you may need to adjust that screw to it raised your idle up... your automatic choke might be warming all the way , and that causes the engine to die , so try adjusting the cam on the throttle cable, you can also cover the carb with your hand , when the chock is fully open.. just My 2 cents

  4. i have my engine pulled out of my truck and now have to buy a new clutch, and update the flywheel .... 1st question.. the flywheel i have in it now is a 240 z or a 260 z flywheel, i cant remember , but its lighter than the stock L20, should I leave it ? or have it lightened ? If i lighten it .. what is the best weight for my Mild over bored block..? Or should I leave it the way it is...

2nd question... what is the best clutch for a L20 New.. and where is a good place to get one online ? thanks

  5. my 24 post , have been on this board Long before alot of you peeps ... Ive owned datsuns since 1987 .. I know bigdave very well , as bleach, Mike Masson..etc..etc.. You wise cracks , and post Highjacks arnt amusing ... This board has grown and changed over the years , It used to be only Local washington people.. and there were maybe 20 people on this Board when i joined ... so get off of it .. As for market value , it doesnt take rocket science to look at a L20 block and say a core is worth 200.00 , or a dog legged 5 speed can go for 100 or 75.00... I put 800.00 into one of my L20 heads from top end performance down in cali , I also have had work done by auto sport in seattle on both Blocks ... the point is Ive been out of the datsun Loop for over 10 years .. and on this Board , I know datsuns , and I know every detail of my 620 truck and my 76 610 sedan... I figured there were People here still buying and selling parts , and i could get some help...

  6. mods if this is in the wrong place feel free to move it,as i couldnt see where to ask this question?

I have a truck thats been dead for 4 years , its been sitting due to lack of motivation to fix it.. i have alot of money into the trucks 2 L20 engines, and the heads.. the truck is great all the way around , except for really bad bed rust on the bed and seams.. here is my question , whats it worth current market ?

76 truck.. great enterior , custom exhaust all the way back to a dynaflow muffler , performance shorty header from california, blocks are milled 20 over, the heads have mild cams , with racing valves and springs, the ports have been matched and grinded in the bowl valve area... any help would be great , just not sure if i wanna fix my baby and just sell her to a ratsun person.. thanks

  7. I have a 4 door sedan...1975.. This is my second 610. My first 610 was a 76 4 door. I bought the 75 3 years ago from a guy in Ellensburg Wa for $400.00. I am currently waiting to fix it up.. It runs a drives great when I drive it, but I only drive maybe 2x a year
