  1. I’m picking up a CA18det today for my 620 if you need something
  2. I had one years ago in an r32 and locating parts was extremely difficult. Not sure if that’s still true or not
  3. Any of the alterations I’m considering to accommodate a larger engine can be reversed. I’ve got a factory 620 firewall sitting next to the spot welder 🤣 There’s an l28et nearby that I’ve been keeping an eye on. But I guess there’s a KA24e close too 🙄. I dunno, this truck is special to me and I’d like to treat it to something special
  4. That’s honestly not a concern either. A few of the recent ideas were a Mitsubishi mightymax 4G swap, F20C from an s2000, in-line 5 from an early 90’s late 80’s Audi and a few other ridiculous things. There’s currently a 2JZ waiting to go into my 56’ but the body still needs to go down to Oregon to be dipped before I start moving any sheet metal around
  5. I’m pretty close to dead set on an in-line 6. Firewall reworking is not an issue. Relocating the cooling system to the bed is also a non-issue. Major fab work in general is also a non issue. I seriously doubt it’ll be anywhere as difficult as my 56’ project. But I prefer something nissan, something in the 400+ power range at a minimum. Money isn’t really an issue and more than likely there will be a tube frame made. I’m all for suggestions 😂
  6. Lola was sold a few years back and was recently re-aquired. I’m now on the search for an l28 motor or other L series 6 cylinder

I guess that makes sense, just looked at some pics I had of my motor and it looks like the manifold is a tube and not square.

Aha! one person to chime in on going the trurbo route.

Mike, what I currently have is a 78’ 620 with what I thought came with a square (not circular) exhaust port W58? I’m no stranger to head work, pulling the exhaust shields in the head and welding any issues that might arise from doing that certainly isn’t a problem.

Also wondering if there was a particular head/bottom end I should look for? If I remember not all z24 motors were the same?

Thank you mike, this is the kind of info I was looking for. I really like seeing the L series valve cover in there and whatever I can do to make some power without it looking aftermarket was the goal. Just out of curiousity, did you cc the head?

That’s more like it. I want to keep the L series look there, but I don’t want to do the same old dual Weber’s or mikunis.

I’m not worried about a ka being faster, and I’m really not worried about the money it costs to do it. Simply if the 38mm SU carbs would support 150hp out of a built L motor.

Maybe it was the 2.3 liter I was thinking about
