Speedo cable issue

ok so the 510 came without a speedo cable, I have a 521 cable though and it's the perfect length... Maybe a couple inches longer than necessary but certainly usable... The prblem is I am missing the little round fitting with the tab on the side that slips into the speedo cog thing... Am I making sense?

 

Do I need to get a whole new speedo cable to get this? Is it supposed to be able to come off? Anyone local have one?

Joe, that piece came with the speedo cable. You'll have to find someone with a broken end and attach it to the end of the cable to make it work. You can get a Pioneer Cable through the parts store for an automatic 69 510 that works. Just make sure you lube it well before use or it'll snap on you ....

Thanks Jason! Well... I guess i'll order a new one, there's a bunch of dattos at PaP but I don't feel like laying in the mud. :D

yep I have a tach... But with the Jacobs ignition you have to hook the tach to the brown wire off of the brain, therein lies the problem... No brown wire. :lol:
