Tommy Dat
Good evening All, I am stripping this F10 for all it's worth but cannot figure out how to remove the rear panel skins without just cutting the body into pieces. Has anyone ever removed just the skins from the frame? thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well this is the thing, there is no frame on a monocoque chassis. All body parts provide support and stiffness for everything even the glass, specially the glass. Everything other than front fenders, doors and hood are spot welded together for rigidity. A lot of welds. If you are thinking of selling them I'll tell you that there isn't much of an F10 market. Quote Link to comment
Tommy Dat
thanks, I am just using this as a donor. I am building a '77 and needed some parts. I know how hard it is to find parts for these so I was hoping to be able to separate the rear body metal. With my luck, the moment I send this to the scrapper I will have a rear fender bender and need the metal..... lol Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I hear that. Maybe wrap in a tarp and put behind the barn. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
buy a spot weld drill and drill out the spot welds wherever you can find them they are put together with spot welds and seam sealer it is a slow process otherwise pick the most important parts and Sawzall them off 1 Quote Link to comment
