datzenmike Posted February 6 Report Share Posted February 6 Actually it's 4.875 ratio if working out crawl speeds etc. C signifies the Salisbury style with removable cover plate accessing the gears that are bolted in from the back. All I have ever heard of are C-200s where the 200 is the diameter of the ring gear and a rough indicator of strength. The front differential is an R-180 with the R signifying a solid mounting with individual CV driveshafts to the wheels or IRS/IFS. Later trucks with stronger engines went to an R-200 Quote Link to comment
