Oil pump noise. Great thought.

I believe the noise has to be something that I haven't changed or adjusted because it has been there for sooo many years, even after valve adjustments and timing chain replacements. Hence why I wanted to change the lifters and springs.

But really, an oil pump can make those ticking noises? It is an original one probably from the late 80's.

Love how he mentions this after I've had that 15w 40 on the shelf in my shop for what four months - 6 maybe waiting for the right time to swap it lololol

I only found out much later myself. Assumed diesel were all thicker. Switched to 10w30 last oil change.
