super-bee_ski
Hi, I know this topic has been covered so many times but I need help. 1970 1600 Roadster with 14 inch rims. What is a good size tire for the 1600s? I have been looking for 175-80-14s per a guide. Hankook. Thanks for any help. mark Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
5:60 X14 is the stock tire on a stock rim. This would translate to a 175/65R14 that's 22.95" make it 23" tall and about 6.9" wide. The last thing you want is a tire taller or shorter and this will throw the speedometer off, too tall may rub body and will make poor acceleration and too small, poor gas mileage. Too wide may rub the inner or outer fenders or suspension parts. Up to you to look and see how much room you have for clearance but I would guess one inch (1/2" per side) may work if you want wider. A 205/55R14 is 8" wide and 22.88" tall a pretty good match. Again depends on clearance Quote Link to comment
