justin 620
Hello! Does anybody have experience with converting a 75-77 combination switch to work with a 73 harness, or vice versa? The diagram looks as if the horn button is sepperate from the turn signal plug on the 75-77? I have connectors to adapt them, so that isn't my hold up Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
On the '75-'77 switch The horn wires are Blue/Green stripe. Same color on the '73 harness but is separate from the plug The wire to the flasher for the turn signal is Blue and the only separate wire from the plug. But it's mate on the '73 harness is Green. The dimmer switch wires are Red/Yellow and both separate from the plug on '75 switch and '73 plug. All the wires match color wise except the BLUE and GREEN as noted above. I think this will work.. justin 620
Ao the horn is incorporated in the 75 plug. Where did the 8th wire go in the 73 setup? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The wiring diagram shows 8 wires for the '73-'73 and the '75-'77. The diagram of the '75-'77 switch does not show 8. Quote Link to comment
justin 620
I had tne wrong diagrams It seems like this switch doesnt have the wire for the brake Only the 6 wire plug, and the one wire to the flasher relay Edited March 11, 2022 by justin 620 Quote Link to comment
justin 620
This appears to be the entirely wrong switch. 3 wires for the dimmer switch, 1 for the horn, 2 for the blinkers, and one for the flasher Edited March 11, 2022 by justin 620 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Green/Yellow is the stop light signal on both switch harnesses shown in the wire diagrams. There has to be a brake light so it can be disconnected on the side using the flasher. Quote Link to comment
