tiny
Was doing an oil change and noticed my carrier bearing is looking pretty rough. Anyone have the part number for the replacement? Either the whole bracket/hanger or just the bearing/race I suppose. Rock Auto is overwhelming Quote Link to comment
720_Jeff
Looks like https://www.rockauto.com/en/partsearch/?partnum=3752101W25 You can get OEM, but going to cost ya like $150 Quote Link to comment
tiny
Thanks! I'd probably use zip ties over buying OEM Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That's not the carrier bearing. It's out of sight inside the driveshaft and I only know of one instance where the bearing verifiably failed. What you are looking at is the rubber isolator that will get age checked and rot away. That one isn't that bad. It should be firm enough to support the driveshaft in place but give a small amount. A really bad one is missing all the rubber and the drive shaft will flop around and you'll know it. I've fixed a bad one by wrapping a narrow rubber strip of conveyor belt around the driveshaft to fill it in and replace it and clamped it in place. It does not move, it just sits there. It worked so well I never got around to replacing it. Quote Link to comment
