Weber Carb Gasket & Nut Advice

Checked that ground below the carb. Looks good. I'm going to clean up a bit of the corrosion on my battery terminals, check all the connections I can, then go from there.

The thing that's eating me is it doesn't make sense for it to be an electrical issue unless the lack of a vacuum leak suddenly dramatically increased the electrical load. Truly bizarre.

In other news, cold starts are now about 10 times easier. Seriously takes about a tenth of the crank and priming time.

Common misconception with red loctite is that it makes fasteners impossible to remove. The only fasteners I've had problems removing held in with red loctite were crank damper bolts (on race engines), 1/4" set screws used in aftermarket steering u-joints and AN fittings in dry sump oil pans.

Glad you got it working.

Yes, that plate thing is weird, and stupid and clearly an afterthought. Way to go Nissan.

A bad ground could cause the relay to buzz, as it is searching for ground.

I've only used red on outdoor structures, and I've never been able to get it apart without an impact driver or breaker bar, myself. Perhaps I'm slathering on too much! For those sorts of applications that was always the goal, though.
