datzenmike
:D Who's arguing? I'm fascinated by the possibilities. The first article I read was about multiple grooves aimed at the plug. I'l see if I can find it. Quote Link to comment

spottedog
My oil pump/dizzy driveshaft was not meshed correctly throwing off my dizzy rotor position. Today I dropped the pump and got the dizzy drive right at "11:25" BUT it turned out that there was no physical way to mount the L20b dizzy onto the Z24 pedestal so as to have the rotor point to the #1 plug with the crank at TDC. The metal mounting plate under the dizzy would line up with the retaining bolt hole, but there was not enough of the curved slot in the plate to get the timing even close. So I thought "take the pedestal off your spare L20B" Nope, no pedestal, the dizzy mount is part of the timing cover casting. Hmmmmm.......... Modify the sucker! Mod to plate in 'pic below. The metal outside the line has been welded on. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b8cc24b3127ccec59ed8002a1a00000040O00AZs2LJy1cOWIPbz4M/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/ Maybe this will help somebody that plans to build a "L24" engine. Thanks again datzenmike and you others for the advice, it got dark and COLD before I could put that damn crossmember under the oil pump back on, but I bet it will work just fine.
