STAY RAD!
I'm about a mm or two short of getting the circlip onto the new front cv axle after installing new bearings, seals and axle. Any tips? Tried both original circlip and a new one but just not enough space. Need thinner circlip? Thought I could maybe put a bolt in the end of the CV axle for some pulling leverage but no such luck... No threaded hole on the end of the axle. Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
I have had this issue and had to press the axle stub from the back. New hub seal? You seem to have mash against a new seal. I used wooden 2x2 and some wedges but I was working alone. 1 Quote Link to comment
MaddieCycle
This was a real pain to do, I just did this myself while changing the lower ball joints. I somehow wedged it in but it is such a shallow trench on the shaft it was hard to be sure it was really well seated. I drove a couple of miles and pulled off the locking mechanism to check it again, seems seated, but yeah, what a pain. 1 Quote Link to comment
