Stinky
I'm changing the differential on my 720. When I pulled the axle out, I noticed that the 2 sides were different. The one side had a light green grease, and the other side had black Moly grease. Soooooo, somebody had been in there before me. Which grease is likely the original grease? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Neither. I took a 720 axle out and it was yellow. You sure it's moly and not differential oil getting past a bad seal? Quote Link to comment
Stinky
I can believe yellow. I'll look at the black grease again...but it is a uniform black. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's grease, the one I had apart was yellow but it's whatever Nissan might use. I had an axle bearing replaced in my 620, actually at a dealer and the replacement grease was red. Long as it works. Quote Link to comment
Stinky
I don't think that the seal was leaking as it was pretty dry in there (no oil, but grease). I have to find some brake shoes today. My notebook is lacking (I keep one on every car that I have). Alls it says is that the shoes came the 720 that I T-boned a guy in...In Vernal, UT. I taught him to not fail to yield. I don't know where they came from, originally. I don't want to buy them again as they are all cracked, and a chunk has flaked off. I just called around...Oreilly stocks the shoes. Nobody has the Wheel Cylinders...but they can all get them and some of em by COB tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
